Aztec Eagle Night figure found in the Templo Mayor, Tenochtitlan Mexico

This figure is actually only the head of one of two earthenware scultpures found in the Eagle Knights precint of the Templo Mayor (Major Temple). The Templo Mayor was the center of religious life in Tenochtitlan (what is now Mexico City). The Eagle Nights precint consists of a general hall which is reached by a staircase and several rooms.
